What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a form of healthcare that emphasizes the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders, without the use of drugs or surgery. Based on the belief that the body has the ability to heal itself, chiropractic involves manual therapy, including manipulation of the spine, to minimize nerve interference.
Through a chiropractic manipulation or adjustment, the hands are used to restore normal movement and alignment of the vertebral spine, as well as other joints in the body such as the shoulder, hips and knees. In addition, chiropractic emphasizes the importance of nutrition, exercise and overall lifestyle choices to optimize health.
There are several types of techniques used by chiropractors. Click here to learn more about which techniques are used in our office.
